Belvoir FCU To Close Four In-School Branches To Focus On Military Members

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Belvoir FCU, which will add at least 20,000 service members to its field of membership because of base realignment, said it is closing four student-run branches to focus those resources on its core membership.

The $270 million credit union, which serves Fort Belvoir just south of Washington, D.C., announced that it is ending partnerships with branches at Gar-Field and Woodbridge high schools, and Godwin and Woodbridge middle schools.

As a result of the Base Realignment and Closure Commission recommendations of 2005, Fort Belvoir is slated to grow by 20,000 employees.

All current members of the credit union served by the school branches will be able to continue their membership uninterrupted, and all students, parents and staff at the schools will continue to be able to join.
