WICHITA, Kan.-Boeing Wichita CU, the state's largest CU, has changed its name to Meritrust CU.
The $600-million credit union has undergone a number of name changes throughout its history, which dates to 1936 when it was chartered as Stearman Employees CU. The impetus for the change came when the credit union first opened to non-Boeing employees in 1994. Some potential members thought they had to work at Boeing to belong.
