WICHITA, Kan. – Gary Regoli, who helped build Boeing Wichita CU into the state’s largest credit union, announced yesterday he is leaving to become president and CEO of Achieva CU, in Clearwater, Fla.
Achieva CU, which used to be called Pinellas County Teachers CU, has had a revolving door in the corner office over the past year. It hired Joseph Newberry from Redstone FCU last May to succeed the retiring Wendell Brooks as CEO, but Newberry resigned just seven months later to take the reigns at $2.2 billion Redstone FCU. when Gerry Toland retired. Debbie Rogers, Achieva’s chief financial officer, has been serving as interim CEO since January.
Regoli said he took the Florida job as an opportunity to return home. He spent 20 years in Florida before going to Boeing Wichita in 1999, and building it into a $450 million credit union.
Regoli will take the reigns at the $650 million Achieva CU on June 2.
