Lenora Colburn, 49, worked for SELCO from 1986 to May 2011 in a variety of positions, including teller supervisor, operations supervisor and assistant manager of the credit union’s Santa Clara branch. She confessed that between 2003 and 2011, she used her supervisory posts to “facilitate and conceal” her embezzlement. She admitted creating phony cash transactions and manipulating cash drawer and vault balances and branch audits.

“I embezzled $146,584 to support a gambling habit,” Colburn stated in her plea bargain.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 10.
