Branch Manager Jailed For $236,000 Theft

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A former assistant branch manager for Case CU was sentenced this morning to 27 months in prison for embezzling $236,000 from member accounts at the credit union.

Marcie Graham, 30, stole the funds while working as an assistant branch manager at the credit union between December 2008 and October 2010.

She targeted members based on the amount of money in the account, believing that with more money in an account the member would be less likely to notice, according to prosecutors One account belonged to a relative. Prosecutors said Graham believed it would be easier to pay back a relative than a non-relative.

Graham was also ordered to pay $256,333 in restitution.
