The deal would create a credit union with more than $160 million in total assets and 23,000 members.

The location of the Fort Bragg office will be carefully reviewed during the merger exploration process because Mendo Lake already has a branch in Fort Bragg.

As the merging credit union, Fort Bragg Community members will be given an opportunity to vote on the final merger agreement, with a full disclosure of all merger details provided to members prior to the vote, the two credit unions said.
