GROTON, Conn. – Charter Oak FCU has awarded Norwich-based Martin House and Thames River Community Service organizations with $7,500 in grant funding to support housing and employment-placement programs for formerly homeless individuals.
A $5,000 grant was distributed to the Martin House, which is located on the grounds of the former Norwich Hospital campus and serves individuals affected by homelessness, mental illness, low income and unemployment.
A $2,500 grant was provided to the Thames River Valley Program, a program of Thames River Community Service, which provides transitional-living opportunities to single mothers as they pursue goals for self-sufficiency and independence.
