SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Ron Fong, the California and Nevada CU Leagues’ vice president of state government affairs, will take a new position as president and CEO of the California Grocers Association beginning March 31.
As vice president of state government affairs, Fong oversaw the two leagues’ Sacramento office and its advocacy program. His final day will be March 28.
“Throughout his 12 years with the leagues, Ron worked hard to ensure the ongoing success of our advocacy programs at the state legislative and regulatory level in both California and Nevada,” said Bill Cheney, League president and CEO. “We will miss his tireless dedication to the credit union movement, and know that he will bring that same dedication to his new position.”
“He was instrumental in making our advocacy program the best within the credit union system,” said Bob Arnould, senior vice president of governmental affairs.
“Throughout my twelve years at the League, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some seriously talented government relations professionals. Together, we have built an advocacy team which is among the best in CA and NV and for that I am extremely proud,” Fong said.
