WILKES-BARRE, Penn. – Choice One Community FCU said its long-time president and CEO John Kebles is retiring and will be succeeded in the corner office by the $60 million credit union’s chief financial officer Tom Smith.

Kebles will retain the title of CEO and serve as advisor until June 30.
Kebles has been a major contributor to the credit union movement for many years and was the 1990 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Professional of the Year, and the 2005 Keystone Award. He also served as chairman of the Pennsylvania CU Association and Pennsylvania CU Foundation boards of directors.
