Church In The Now Has Questionable Future As CU Forecloses

CONYERS, Ga. – The future of Church in the Now is in doubt as Evangelical Christian CU, one of the biggest church lenders in the country, has filed to foreclose on its properties.

Church in the Now, one of the so-called mega-churches, borrowed $18.5 million from the Brea, Calif., credit union in 2007 for three properties, according to the foreclosure documents. The main church has seating for 2,500 parishioners.

If the foreclosure proceeds, the property will go to auction on the county courthouse steps on April 5.
