RICHMOND, Va. – Two local churches have joined with Virginia United Methodist CU to create a fund that will back small loans for eligible members.
The churches have agreed to raise money for the Jubilee Assistance Fund, which will be deposited into a savings account with the credit union that can be used as collateral to back a small loan for a church member.
Participants in the program will be required to undergo financial counseling.
