COLUMBUS, Ohio – CME FCU yesterday said it is installing a variety of social computing tools from NewsGator to enhance employee collaboration and member service.
The $160 million credit union is implementing NewsGator’s Social Sites along with Microsoft’s SharePoint Server 2007 to help it launch a new corporate-wide portal to enable advanced, online collaboration between employees.
This will enable employees to tap into an intelligent social network similar to Facebook and MySpace, but optimized for the corporate environment. The social network will enable employees to see what colleagues are working on and make easy connections between people, departments and project groups.
The new CME portal will also allow employees to track member concerns through a number of social media tools, including tags and tag clouds, which give customer service managers and the management team real-time insight on member information and questions.
