- ARVADA, Colo. (02/01/01) - SunCorp Corporate CUsaid Wednesday it has agreed to merge with Rocky Mountain CorporateCU, creating a $1.1 billion regional corporate serving 394 creditunions primarily in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. The combinedentity will retain the Colorado state charter and operate out ofthe two offices in Arvada, Colo., outside of Denver, and Salt LakeCity. In a move unique to corporate mergers, the new entity willretain the names and branding strategies of both corporates toserve the memberships. Eric Kenealy, president of SunCorp, will beCEO of the new entity, while Brandt Peterson, executive vicepresident of Rocky Mountain Corporate, will become chief operatingofficer. Wayne Barnes, current president of Rocky MountainCorporate, will remain with the merged entity for two years in aconsulting role.
