'Commemoration, Not Celebration'

CUNA hosted a luncheon last week to commemorate the fifth anniversary of The Credit Union Membership Access Act (HR 1151). The lunch, to which approximately 50 credit union and congressional dignitaries were invited, was held at Credit Union House, which was built in help alleviate what in the 1990s was a lack of a credit union presence on Capitol Hill. 'Today is a commemoration, not a celebration," said CUNA CEO Dan Mica, "because we have not won all that we need to win." For complete coverage of the event, see page 6.
