Community First CU names new CEO

Santa Rosa, California-based Community First Credit Union named Scott Johnson to be its next president and CEO.

He replaces Todd Sheffield, who had announced his plans to retire last year.

Johnson was most recently the chief revenue officer and chief strategy officer with the $3.5 billion-asset Unify Financial Credit Union in Torrance, California. Johnson was also previously the CEO of Unify Insurance Solutions.

“This opportunity at Community First Credit Union is the next step in my career and I am so excited to begin working with the board of directors and the multi-talented staff that work at Community First,” Johnson said in a press release.

The $695 million-asset Community First CU earned $1.7 million in the first quarter, compared with $1.6 million the year before, according to call report data from the National Credit Union Administration.
