Community Credit Union (CCU) has signed on as the "Official Credit Union of the Dallas Stars" for the 2003-04 National Hockey League season. The agreement calls for CCU advertisements to be displayed on fixed and electronic signage in the Stars home arena, the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
The CCU brand will also appear in each home game program, on an outdoor billboard and dasher board at the Stars practice facility in nearby Frisco,Texas, in the Stars official yearbook and in Boards and Blades, the official fan newsletter. CCU commercials will also air during live radio broadcasts of all Stars games on WBAP 820 AM. Additionally, CCU is providing ATMs in each of the six Dr. Pepper StarCenters throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Employees participated in a Stars Spirit day, with branch office staff wearing Dallas Stars games. Some branches have also given away tickets and merchandise.
CCU said it sets aside 25%of its annual marketing budget for sponsorships and donations. CCU employees have donated more than 13,000 hours of their time volunteering in the community. They also donated $8,000 to Special Olympics alone in 2003.
