WSECU Joins In Heart Walk

OLYMPIA, Wash.-Washington State Employees Credit Union participated in the Heart Walk, which raised $4,200 for the American Heart Association.

The credit union also volunteered to paint eight public housing units as part of the United Way Day of Caring.

CSCU Creates New Scholarship

LIVONIA, Mich.-Co-op Services Credit Union created a $4,000 scholarship for students attending Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration. The credit union's board established the scholarship to honor the memory of Harlan Richardson, a longtime credit union volunteer and Walsh College alumnus.

Credit Unions Open New Branches

The following credit unions announced new branch openings:

* First Atlantic FCU has moved its headquarters to Industrial Way, Eatontown, N.J., and is constructing a branch in West Long Branch.

* Cal State 9 Credit Union held a grand opening at its new branch on the campus of San Francisco State University.

* ECCU Credit Union opened a new branch inside an Albertson's supermarket in South Arlington, Texas.

* Webster First Federal Credit Union opened a customer service call center in Webster, Mass.

NYSCUL Hosts Golf Tournament

LATHAM, N.Y.-The New York State Credit Union League held a golf tournament and raised $7,000 for CUPAC.

Mon-Oc FCU Supports Food Drive

TOMS RIVER, N.J.-Mon-Oc Federal Credit Union collected non-perishable food items at all of its offices to benefit those in need during the holiday season.

LFCU Hosts Mobile Screening Unit

HAMPTON, Va.-Langley Federal Credit Union hosted Riverside's Mobile Mammography Unit during a six-hour event, which focused on breast cancer education, and offered one-stop breast cancer screening.

ECU Sells Pumpkins For Charity

AURORA, Ill.-Earthmover Credit Union sold paper pumpkins in all of its branches to benefit Hollie Konrady, a local 14-year old with Carpenters Syndrome.

The credit union also collected new toys for the Marine Corps Reserves' Toys for Tots program.

Wis. League Honors Credit Unions

Peawaukee, Wis.-The Wisconsin Credit Union League announced the winners of its 2002 Marketer's Choice awards competition. Winners were: Wausau Insurance Employees Credit Union, Summit Credit Union, CoVantage Credit Union, Capital Credit Union, Dane County Credit Union, Badger-Globe Credit Union, 1st Security Credit Union, and Lakeview Credit Union.
