Weirton, W.V.-The Weirton/Wellsburg Chapter of the West Virginia CU League honored former POW Jessica Lynch on her 20th birthday with a $1,000 check, a two-night stay at the Charleston Marriott, a $500 gift card from Kaufmann's store, a $100 gift card from Sears, and a gift basket from JCPenney.

CCULF Honors Contributors

ARVADA, Colo.-The Colorado Credit Union League Foundation recognized Bellco Credit Union for making the largest contribution in 2002 to the foundation's Susan j. brayman Scholarship Fund and the Carrol d. Beach Scholarship Fund. Carroll Beach was recognized as the top individual supporter of the foundation in 2002. Elaine Hornung, Mary Kay Chalmers, and Clifford Grasmick were added to the Wall of Fame.

COFCU Supports Senior Center

LAS VEGAS-Community One Federal Credit Union partnered with Harrah's Senior Coalition to renovate the Margaret Rose Senior complex. COFCU staff contributed their efforts to the renovation, and the credit union donated $2,000 in food, goods, and services.

COLUMBIA, S.C.-Lexington High School teacher Kelly Evans has been named Financial Literacy Educator of the Year by South Carolina's credit unions. He received a plaque and a $1,000 check from the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.

PSCU Raises $13,000 For CMN

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-PSCU Financial Services' Annual Golf Benefit raised $13,000 for the Children's Miracle Network. More than 70 golfers played to support All Children's Hospital, The Phoenix Children's Hospital, and the Tucson Medical Center.

PEORIA, Ill.-Citizens Equity First Credit Union sponsored the Partners in Peace awards luncheon benefitting the Center for Prevention of Abuse. The event, which raised $6,000, recognized individuals in Central Illinois who have furthered the center's mission of eliminating abuse and violence.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.-The California Credit Union League was one of more than 100 exhibitors in the Youth Expo in Costa Mesa. Financial Partners CU, one of the sponsors of the Expo, handed out practice checkbooks to students from its booth, and league staffers gave out NEFE information kits.

WFCU Merges With TRWSFCU

LOS ANGELES-Western Federal Credit Union merged with TRW Systems Federal Credit Union. The integration of the two credit unions will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2003.
