Kent CU Warms The Soles Of Kids

KENT, Ohio-Kent Credit Union was a sponsor of the Warm the Soles of Kids campaign. The credit union collected new shoes, or cash to purchase shoes, for needy children in the Portage County area this past holiday season.

The credit union also helped sponsor National Denim Day, a benefit drive held in conjunction with Lee Jeans, to aid in the research of breast cancer.

CCU Holds Holiday Fundraiser

FRANKFORT, Ken.-Commonwealth Credit Union raised more than $7,300 to benefit terminally ill children in the Central Kentucky area. Area businesses and CCU employees donated more than 90 gift baskets, which were bid on in a silent auction.

In additional news, more than 400 young members and their families attended Commonwealth CU's holiday gathering.

RFCU Donates Toys And Clothing

WARNER ROBINS, Ga.-During the holiday season, Robins Federal Credit Union donated toys and clothing for 20 less fortunate children in the Central Georgia area.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-The credit unions of Arkansas donated more than $6,100 to bring Arkansas soldiers home for Christmas. The 39th Infantry Brigade's 3,500 soldiers were granted leave to come home at Christmas, but they had to pay their own way. The Arkansas CU League joined in the fundraising efforts by encouraging credit unions to adopt a soldier.

CFCU Supports Children's Education

PLYMOUTH, Mich.-Community Financial Credit Union donated $700 to the Northville Education Foundation to help support the education of children.

HSFCU Provides Cheer On Wheels

HONOLULU-Hawaii State Federal Credit Union sponsored Cheer on Wheels, a food and friendship program for home bound seniors. During the holidays, credit union volunteers loaded their vehicles with bags of food and visited 160 seniors in Kakaako, Windward and Leeward communities.
