KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Consumers CU said yesterday it has rolled out a mobile banking by text messaging service that allows members to view account balances and activity right from a cell phone or other mobile device.
To use the free service members have to send a text message to Consumers U.S. short code, 878787, and will receive text messages back with the requested information.
Consumers TextBanking works with nearly all major mobile providers in the U.S., such as ALLTEL, AT&T, Centennial Wireless, Metro PCS, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, Virgin Mobile, and more. The service also works with virtually any type of mobile device or cell phone, as long as it has the ability to send and receive text messages. Options are also available with certain prepaid plans, which are popular among younger members.
