WATSONVILLE, Calif. Police found hand written notes demanding cash and clothing believed worn during six area armed robberies by a woman on trial for being the “Central Coast Bandit.”
The evidence was discovered after the exercise of search warrants for the home of Christine Padilla.
Search warrants say it was the robbery at the Monterey CU in Pacific Grove where the bandit struck first. On Aug. 23 authorities arrested Padilla as the bandit, after being recognized at Golden One CU in San Luis Obispo.
Inside her Watsonville home police found some of the clothes she allegedly wore when she robbed the six institutions including a t-shirt with "Garden Isle of Kauai" written on the front, the same shirt described in another holdup. In Padilla's car police found several hand written notes, one read "hand me all of your large bills. I will shoot you."
The warrant also listed a loaded and fully charged BB-gun found in Padilla's car, as well as a map of the Modesto area. Different glasses and purses all matching the robber’s description also were listed.
Padilla remains in jail after getting caught nearly two weeks ago.
