FERNDALE, Mich. – Credit Union ONE awarded $2,000 this summer by randomly giving members $50 bills instead of $20 bills when they visited the credit union’s Grand Rapids ATM.
The promotion, which ran from July 10 through July 31, was designed to create awareness of the ATM and branch location, support the current branch efforts, and to show member appreciation, the credit union said.
“It was wonderful that so many people came in concerned that they received too much money, but when they realized the additional money was theirs to keep as a thank you for their patronage, they were very excited,” said Sharon Blower, branch manager.
Promotional marketing efforts included e-mail blasts to Grand Rapids Branch members, online banking notifications, flyers that were posted in the branch and on the ATM, as well as Facebook postings during the month of July. During the event, some of the winners volunteered for a photo, which Credit Union ONE said were posted on Facebook, generating some good conversation
