SWATARA TOWNSHIP, Penn. -- A man robbed a Belco Community CU branch this morning then hopped into a passing cab to escape.
The robber entered the credit union around 11 am and demanded money from a teller, then fled on foot before catching a taxi to leave the area, according to police.
A Pennsylvania State Trooper located the cab with both the suspect and cab driver in the vehicle traveling on Rt. 11/15 North and the cab driver pulled over, but the suspect forced the driver from the vehicle and sped away, police said.
Multiple state troopers chased the cab and eventually took the suspect, identified as Jason Butler, into custody.
