CUNA Adjusts Asset Size Ranges For Its Board Seats

CUNA said that the asset size ranges for credit union seats on its board have been adjusted to reflect growth in credit union assets. Eight of the association's board seats are up for election this year.

According to CUNA, in the Southeast states (CUNA District 3) and in the Plains and Rockies states (District 5), board seats will be open for affiliated CUs up to 13,999 members (Class A). This smallest size class had previously only included CUs up to 10,000 members. In the Northeast (District 1) and in the Midwest (District 4), seats will be open for affiliated CUs with 14,000 to 51,999 members (Class

B). This medium size class had previously covered CUs with 10,001 to 40,000 members. In the Mideast (District 2) and in the West/Pacific region (District 6), board seats will be open for affiliated CUs with at least 52,000 members (Class C). This largest size class had previously covered CUs over 40,000 members.

CUNA said the changes ensure that each class size represents roughly one-third of America's CU members. The two other open seats this year will be for league presidents (Class D) in the Southeast and Midwest.
