CUNA Names Community Credit Union Award Winners

The Credit Union National Association has named the winners of its 2014 Community Credit Union of the Year Awards.

The annual contest recognizes organizations "that consistently excel in the advancement of credit union ideals," the Madison, Wisc.-based trade association said in a news release.

AmeriCU Credit Union in in Rome, N.Y., won first place among credit unions with more than $250 million in assets, while Vermont State ECU in Montpelier, Vt., was honored with an honorable mention.

In the category for credit unions with less than $250 million in assets, Alternatives FCU in Ithaca, N.Y. won first place. Southwest 66 FCU in Odessa, Texas was recognized with honorable mention.

The awards will be presented at the CUNA Community Credit Union & Growth Conference, taking place Nov. 3-6 in Las Vegas, Nev.
