CUNA has joined hundreds of other businesses in offering individuals an opportunity to register to vote online for November's elections. CUNA has provided a link on its website, which in turn is connected to thousands of credit union sites that will not only connect individuals with their local boards of election but also enable them to obtain absentee ballots. It also provides a Spanish language option for Hispanic residents.
"We're really proud of this because we think it amounts to another step in getting more credit union members involved in the political process," said John McKechnie, chief lobbyist for CUNA. The link can be accessed at the government affairs button at CUNA's website at cuna.org.
