CUNA's GAC Attracts Politicians, Crowds & Debate

WASHINGTON-The approximately 4,200 credit union representatives gathered here last week for CUNA's GAC heard a little of the very old (need to protect the tax exemption) and the very new (a fresh theme message for credit unions).

In between they heard the encouraging (every member of Congress swearing their support for CUs) and the discouraging (one member of Congress said there is virtually no chance the Durbin cap on debit fees will be repealed).

Over three cold, sometimes-rainy days credit unions from around the country heard from everyone from the Speaker of the House to the new Minority Whip in Congress, from authors, political pundits and from a famous-name TV news broadcaster.
