DCU, USAlliance Launch New Mobile Apps

Digital Federal Credit Union of Marlborough, Mass., and USAlliance Federal Credit Union of Rye, N.Y., have launched new mobile banking apps that feature integration with wearable devices.

The $6.5 billion-asset DCU and the $1 billion-asset USAlliance have released new apps developed by Vertifi Software, the technology CUSO of Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union in Burlington, Mass. Among the many changes to the apps, both now allow for integration with the Apple Watch and wearables with Android Wear, EasCorp said in a statement.

In addition to the wearable technology, the new mobile apps have improved image-processing technology for both front and back images to allow check deposits. Additionally, the apps now allow for additional transaction details through transaction attachments.

"With the ever growing demand for immediacy and the convenience for receiving information, DCU's mobile banking users now have the ability to retrieve certain account information with the flick of a wrist," said DCU vice president of support services Julie Moran. "This first generation watch integration offers the ability for users to receive important credit union notifications on their wrist, as well as the ability to get a snapshot of their current account balances, while providing a unified look and feel with our existing phone apps."

DCU serves 500,000 members across the U.S. USAlliance, which does business as USAlliance Financial, operates 21 branches across the Northeast that serve 80,000 members.
