TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Shaw family, which improved their credit score by 161 points, increased their savings to $3,016 and decreased their debt to $2,798, was awarded Florida Commerce CU’s $10,000 weLiveFIT Challenge grand prize on Friday.
The credit union’s second savings contest started in March with nine families, each determined to improve their credit score, increase savings and reduce debt. But this time, the families also had to get the community's support by getting their votes or else be eliminated from the challenge.
The families that were eliminated were still saving until the competition's end. The family that saved the most also received a prize.
