Delaware League Taps CU Board Member As New CEO

The Delaware Credit Union League has named Patrick J. Mahaney as its new CEO.

A 25-year volunteer as a board member with DEXSTA FCU in Wilmington, Del., including a term as chairman, Mahaney recently retired as senior facilities administrator for Dupont after 30 years.

As part of his credit union volunteerism, Mahaney also served on the credit committee and was involved in political action, including working with legislators on credit union-related issues and training through CUNA's Volunteer Achievement Program. He is also a past president of the Delaware City Junior Chamber of Commerce, and has served as marketing director for Artists Theatre Association, where he still serves as a board member.

A native of Delaware, Mahaney is married with two children.

Mahaney succeeds Bob Walls, who left to take over as CEO of the New Jersey league earlier this year. At press time, the Delaware league told The Credit Union Journal that Mahaney was traveling in New Jersey.
