Delaware League Votes Unanimously to Merge with CCUA

The Delaware Credit Union League (DCUL) announced its member credit unions voted unanimously — by a tally of 28-0 — to merge the DCUL with the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA).

The Thursday vote of Delaware credit unions, the New Castle, Del.-based league noted, completes a year-long process of seeking a merger partner to bring "advocacy excellence and member value" to their member credit unions.

Based in Marlborough, Mass., CCUA is a trade organization currently serving credit unions throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

"The overwhelming positive vote by Delaware credit unions gives us great confidence that they are excited and ready to join our cooperative efforts to improve the credit union system," said CCUA President Paul Gentile in a statement. "I want to thank and congratulate the board and leadership of the Delaware Credit Union League, who were committed and engaged throughout this process."

Members of the CCUA will begin electronically voting on the merger on Friday. Electronic voting is open from June 10-17.
