PHOENIX – Desert Schools FCU said yesterday it will join the millions of stores and shoppers starting their Christmas shopping at the crack of dawn the day after Thanksgiving by opening its 25 Wal-Mart branches at 5 am.
"This is a tough economy and we want to make it as easy as possible for shoppers to start improving their financial situation by taking advantage of Desert Schools' products and services," said Carlos Pacheco, senior vice president of retail sales and branch operations, of the early opening on so-called Black Friday.
The $3 billion credit union will offer full availability of products and services, creative in-store promotions, PA announcements, raffle prizes and other activities in its Wal-Mart branches on Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
