The new site, just five miles from here, consists of a 55-acre parcel in a development between Massillon Road and Interstate 77 across from Akron General Hospital’s Health and Wellness Center.

Public incentives from the state, city of Green, Summit County, and other entities will cover the full cost of the facility, a 500,000-square-foot building and corporate campus that will house 1,500 employees.

Final plans are contingent upon environmental and land tests, government and community approvals.

Diebold expects to finalize the site selection process during the second half of 2012 and break ground some time in 2013.
