FAIRBANKS, Alaska – State Troopers used DNA evidence to track down a suspect in a robbery at Spirit of Alaska FCU last year.
A man wearing a tan balaclava, baseball cap and blue hooded sweatshirt entered the credit union in June demanding money and got away with several thousand dollars. Authorities tracked the suspect to a campground where they found the stolen money as well as a 9mm pistol and clothing worn by the robber.
The State of Alaska Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory matched the DNA on the clothes to the suspect, identified as Jonathan Millington-Walton, after he was charged earlier this week with assaulting his girlfriend.
