Dow Chemical Employees’ CU Gives Members $7.3-Million Payout

MIDLAND, Mich. – Dow Chemical Employees’ CU paid its members a $7.3-million bonus, one of the biggest credit union payouts of the year.

The annual bonus was comprised of a year-end Loan Interest Rebate, which rebated borrowers in good standing 25% of the total interest paid on eligible loans during 2011; a        Member Saver Reward, which entitled depositors in good standing to receive 25% of the dividends/interest they earned on shares/deposits in 2011; and, VISACheck Card rebates of 0.125% of all signature-based transactions during 2011 and $0.01 for each PIN-based transaction during 2011.

This year’s member bonus is up from $5.7 million paid last year by the $1.4-billion credit union.
