JACKSON, Mich. EECU-A Community Credit Union, a former educational employees’ credit union, said it is changing its name to Michigan Community CU to better reflect its broadening membership base.

The $120-million credit union, chartered in 1936 to serve teachers, now serves residents in Jackson, Spring Arbor, Hillsdale and Michigan Center, Mich.
The credit union said because of its strength and the state of the financial competition in its region, management feels this is the best time to position the credit union for future growth and provide the ability to serve more people.
