SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - (05/09/05) -- eFunds Corp. said last week itswholly owned Chex Systems new account verification subsidiary hasagreed to acquire National Check Protection Services, Inc., aprivately held Rockland, Mass., provider of new accountverification, employment screening and due diligence services. Theprice was $20 million. The deal will add depth to ChexSystems' newaccount offering by adding enhanced bankruptcy and criminal data toits DebitBureau database. It will also help expand eFunds'footprint into top financial institutions while accelerating itspush into the Northeast market.
