The credit union will be offering free financial services every Saturday, Feb. 9 through April 13, to tax filers at the UM-St. Louis – Ferguson Municipal Library site.

Filers can open a savings account that requires no minimum balance and receive an ATM card. Electro Savings shares branches with other area credit unions and is part of the CO-OP ATM network, giving account holders free access to more than 40 area credit union branches and more than 100 no-fee ATMs. People who open credit union accounts receive an account number that day to provide to their tax preparer so that their tax refund can be directly deposited into their new credit union account.

“Our goal is to help people avoid paying high fees to manage their money,” said Laura Mugge, community development specialist for the credit union.
