BOULDER, Colo. – Elevations CU, Colorado’s fifth-largest credit union, announced yesterday it is merging into it $80 million St. Vrain Valley CU in Longmont.
The deal will give $975-million Elevations three additional branches, including one in Skyline High School.
The two credit unions have been working together since 2009, with Elevations offering expanded mortgage benefits to the smaller St. Vrain’s membership.
The Jackson, Mississippi, company will use proceeds from the sale of its Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance unit to restructure its investment portfolio, moving $1.6 billion of low-yield securities off the balance sheet.
