Employee Charged With ID Theft

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. – An employee of Rockland Employees FCU has been arrested and charged with identity theft.

Chantelle Hudson, 22, is suspected of stealing personal data from 11 members of the CU. The arrest followed a two-month investigation by the Computer Crime Task Force of the Rockland County Sheriff's Office, which said Hudson used the information to complete online applications for credit cards from Capital One and had the credit cards sent to a vacant address. Also involved in the investigation were the U.S. Secret Service, Capital One and TD Bank-North.

Hudson has been charged with second-degree identity theft, a misdemeanor, and second-degree forgery, a felony.
