LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Two men, one an employee at Beacon Community CU, pleaded guilty to draining almost $40,000 from 22 member accounts after stealing the identities of the members and using them to create phony credit cards.
Jorge Fleitas, 25, who worked at the credit union, and Yohan Villafana, 26, are charged with mail fraud and identity theft.
The two confessed to operating the scheme between September 2007 and January 2008.
