Ex-Worker At Hidden River CU Convicted Of $58,000 Embezzlement

POTTSVILLE, Penn. – A former employee at Hidden River CU last week pleaded guilty to stealing more than $58,000 from the credit union.

Jennifer Doyle, 31, pleaded guilty to theft by deception, tampering with records or identification, and misapplying entrusted, government or financial institution property.

Doyle took investment interest checks and did not allocate them to the correct accounts, according to prosecutors. Instead, she deposited the checks in her own accounts and used different methods to hide the deposits.

The discrepancies were discovered during a routine audit in which Doyle participated.

Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
