MISHAWAKA, Ind. A man robbed AAA CU Monday morning and made off with a bag of cash only to be thwarted and leave the bag behind when a dye pack exploded inside.

Police say the robber gave a teller a brown plastic bag. The teller placed a dye pack and cash into the bag, and then the man left. He was walking southwest through the parking lot when the dye pack exploded.
The robber dropped the bag of cash and then ran through some bushes and trees to a getaway vehicle, in which he made his escape.
