FAIRHAVEN, Mass. – As part of an account-opening promotion, First Citizens’ FCU donated $20,000 to four local veterans groups.

The $400 million credit union agreed to donate $50 to one of the groups for every active or retired U.S. military member who opened a Hero Checking Account, which offers a 1% bonus dividend with direct deposit; free checks; free ATM use and premium savings rates.
The funds went to: Welcome Home Veterans Housing, Homes for Our Troops, Falmouth Military Support Group, and Middleborough Veteran Outreach.
