FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Financial Plus FCU is encouraging area high school students to step behind the camera to shoot a video that can teach others about financial literacy.
The student or team with the best video can win $250 in the credit union’s Fine Tune$ competition. Runner-ups can win $75.
Videos, which should be between one and two minutes, should address topics such as saving for a car or college and steps entrants have taken. The videos also must address how a credit union can help people with their money or how they can use Financial Plus’ Fine Tune$ program to their benefit.
Videos should be burned to a DVD in an .avi format and delivered to a Financial Plus location by Jan. 15. Videos also can be mailed to Financial Plus FCU.
The credit union launched Fine Tune$ for 16- to 18-year-olds in the fall of 2008. It includes a savings account, free checking account, Visa debit card and optional credit card.
