"I am leaving because of a personal matter that no longer makes it feasible for me to stay in Oklahoma," Finley told Credit Union Journal. "Choices like this often have to be made, and I am very happy and am leaving the league with great standing and with no discord at all."
Indeed, although Finley's departure at the league is formally listed as effective June 16, she said she will still be helping informally at least through the end of the month.
Finley has worked at OCUL since 1998, and was initially brought on board to head up the communications and governmental affairs department. She was hired at the beginning of the legislative battle surrounding H.R. 1151, the Credit Union Membership Access Act. She later served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Vice President before taking over as CEO.
"We want to thank Lisa for all she has done during her career at the league to improve our organization, especially during the past two plus year's as our CEO," said OCUL Chairman Michael Kloiber, CEO of Tinker Federal Credit Union. "Her positive attitude and talents will be missed. We wish her the best in the future."
Morrow Ingram, who will serve as interim CEO while the board seeks a permanent replacement, has overseen the advocacy efforts of the league since February of 2006 and previously worked for the league as the government relations director in the late 90s.
