First CEO of Mid-Atlantic Corporate Dies

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – John H. Bixler, Jr., the first president of Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU, has died.

An early proponent of a corporate credit union for Pennsylvania, Bixler was put in charge when Mid-Atlantic Central Federal Credit Union opened in 1976, sharing staff with Pennsylvania Central FCU when it opened, where Bixler also served as CEO. Bixler served as president until retiring in 1989.

Prior to taking the helm at the corporate, Bixler also served as president of CenPenn Rail FCU (now Blue Chip FCU).
