DENVER – First Data Corp., taken private in a huge takeover last year, this week said it plans to lay off about 90 employees at its Daytona Beach, Fla., call center, as it moves toward shutting down the operation.

The layoffs follow last year’s closure of the company’s Tulsa call center with its 400 employees, as the company restructures following the $27 billion takeover by private equity giant Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.
The company expects to complete the closure of its Daytona Beach center by this summer. First Data is moving some of the functions to other call centers as part of a post-takeover restructuring.
Last November the company cut 1,600 jobs, about 6% of its total workforce, as part of the restructuring.
