First Entertainment CU Launches Scriptwriting Contest

HOLLYWOOD – First Entertainment CU is offering a $2,500 prize to the best original story that involves or includes the credit union in some way.

The Write-Off Storywriting Contest will be judged by a distinguished panel that includes Nancy Cartwright, the Emmy Award-winning actress and voice of Bart Simpson, John Reed, a best-selling author and National Book Critics Circle Board Member, and Kirk Ward, a Hollywood screenwriter, actor and producer.

First prize will be $2,500 cash while three Apple iPads will be awarded as runner-up prizes.

The $800 million credit union, which serves employees from the entertainment industry, has created a special social networking website, www.firstentertainmentwriteoff.com, exclusively to support the contest. Contest participants can create personal profiles, participate in contest-related blogs and forums, learn about the judges, and read the stories submitted.

Contest participants, upon joining the credit union, will receive a promotional code good for $80 off the purchase price of Final Draft scriptwriting software.
