SEATTLE – First Tech CU, a newly created credit union giant, has been approved by NCUA to serve 35,000 Seattle-based employees of online retailer Amazon.com to its field of membership.
Amazon employees also are served by Eli Lilly FCU in Indianapolis.
The 2.0 version of First Tech CU was created earlier this year by the Beaverton Ore., credit union’s merger with Palo Alto, Calif.’s Addison Avenue FCU, creating one of the nation’s biggest credit unions with almost $5 billion in assets. The credit union reported net income of $13.3 million for the first quarter.
